Okay, so there’s this guy. And he does the white boy dance.
But it’s not what you’re thinking… it’s more of a happy dance.
Or maybe a synergy of both. YES. That’s exactly what it is.

A synergy of both…

Anyway – His name is Matt. And Matt dances his dance with this big ‘ol cheddar cheese smile on his face.  He runs in place with his arms-a-flapping. And he’s TOTALLY SOBER. Yup. SO-BER.

Kaitlyn’s Sunset

Let me preface this by saying that this is not a religious blog. I have absolutely no intention of asserting my religion on anybody else. It is way too personal. And inappropriate. That said, I DO believe in God. And since this blog revolves around the good things in the world, by default some of that will fall under the umbrella of having faith. Sorry. It can’t be helped.

Some of you may disagree with me on this, but I really don’t think that it matters what you call Him, as long as you acknowledge that there is, indeed, a higher power of some kind. An invigorating sense of “I can do this” has replaced that beat-up feeling we’ve almost stopped noticing because of how regular it’s become…

To some of you, this story will be familiar. Not in the fairy tale kind of way (at all), but because I published it a week ago on a non-public profile of mine in another media outlet… It’s such an inspiration that it’s not fair to limit the number of people it reaches. OH – and just for the record, this is the story that inspired this blog.

My dearest friend recently told me the story of her Tuesday… a day that re-connected me with my humanity… shook me… and made me conscious of things I’d forgotten a long time ago. And the funny thing is that she truly doesn’t have any idea that her actions made her my hero. And my teacher.

It’s hard to put things into perspective when we’re living in a world where we’re pounded all day, every day, with negative press and stories of pain and suffering. Everyone is the Boogey-Man. Everything you consume is going to make you sick.  Everywhere you go, something will hurt you…

I don’t know about you, but I don’t even bother watching the news, anymore… not unless the desire to have nightmares finds me that evening… and even then, I find that horror flicks do the same job. And at least I know they’re fictional.
